RMLC interacts directly with USDA-RD staff, policymakers, tenants, lenders, and other rural housing advocates to ensure the Section 538 Guaranteed Rural Housing Program is an efficient and attractive financing solution for new and/or preserved affordable multifamily housing throughout Rural America.
Working with USDA-RD to align application of 538 rules and guidelines among all regions. RMLC continues to advocate and work with USDA-RD staff for clear and consistent rules and regulations, which speeds the delivery of housing to rural low-income families and senior citizens.
Educating elected officials and their staff in Washington, DC on the importance of this budget neutral USDA-RD lending program, ensuring its growth and continued focus. RMLC and its industry partners continue to advocate for this public/private partnership lending program, ensuring that Congress understands the program’s successes and potential to do even more, all while not costing taxpayers a dime.
